HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass.: The theme for the eighth annual Net-Centric Ops Conference, to be held Sept. 20 at the Wentworth-by-the-Sea Hotel and Resort in New Castle, N.H., is “Changing Environments — Changing Applications.”

Organizers of the conference say discussions will be focused on fully realizing net-centric opportunities and avoiding the pitfalls that loom in the cyber environment now and in the future.

“Our hope is to get everybody thinking about how to maximize the benefits of net-centricity for the benefit of our warfighters while focusing on the bottom line of mission assurance,” said Ron Mason, the Air Force program executive officer for net-centric and cyber systems and the lead government coordinator for the conference.

The line-up of speakers includes Air Force Chief Information Officer Lt. Gen. Bill Lord; Maj. Gen. James Poss, the Air Force assistant deputy chief of staff for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance; and Anthony Lisuzzo, director of the Army’s Communications and Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center.

Rich Lombardi, Electronic Systems Center’s executive director, will be presenting, as will Dr. Davy Belk, director of Air Force Research Laboratory’s Information Directorate at Rome, N.Y., and Brig. Gen. James Haywood, director of requirements at Air Force Space Command.

The conference will feature a number of other speakers, as well. It also will include a government-industry panel that will examine different perspectives and approaches to net-centric and cyber challenges, according to Nino Amoroso, president of the Patriots Roost Chapter of the Association of Old Crows, which organizes the annual event.

“With this year’s conference, we’re continuing in our tradition of having key senior people from the net-centric/cyber community discuss evolving topics that will have near-term impacts and posture us for long-term solutions to meet future challenges,” Mr. Amoroso said.

Registration details and other information can be found on the chapter’s website: http://www.aocpatriotsroost.org
