Venezuelan navy plans to buy 3 submarines

AFP / AFX, CARACAS : The Venezuelan navy plans to acquire three submarines, said Vice Admiral Armando Laguna.
Laguna said the Venezuelan government has already received offers from Germany, France, Italy and Russia.
He noted that no date has been set for the acquisition.
Venezuela has two submarines, which are currently being repaired.
It has launched a multi-year plan to modernise its armed forces, raising concerns in the US and Colombia.
