Northrop Grumman Corp, HERNDON: Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has received a $71.2 million task order from the U.S. Army to provide acquisition and software support, which will help the Army with command, control, communications and computers, intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance program readiness.

As part of this five-year task order, the Northrop Grumman's Information Technology (IT) sector team will provide program management, engineering, security, logistics and technical support. The task order also includes engineering and technology integration for current and new programs including interoperability analysis and testing, system design and configuration, and modeling and simulation.

The task order is part of a $1.4 billion software and systems engineering indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract awarded by the Army's Communications-Electronics Command in October 2001.

This task order will bring approximately 35 new jobs to Northrop Grumman IT.

Northrop Grumman IT teammates on the contract include Data Corporation of America, Colts Neck, N.J.; PKMM, Oceanport, N.J.; and NetCentric Computer Solutions, Freehold, N.J.
