Defence and security company Saab has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for training and simulation system collaboration with Anacom, a Brazilian company that is a supplier to the Brazilian Defence Forces. The co-operation with Anacom is to evaluate and support activities to jointly supply Virtual Training and Simulation systems or similar systems to Brazilian customers, thereby fulfilling the Brazilian government requirements.

Saab has valuable knowledge, capabilities and experience in the management design, development, support and services, manufacturing and supply of Virtual Training and Simulation systems. Anacom is a Brazilian developer and supplier of Training Systems capable to partner with Saab in the supply of such systems. Both parties have also agreed to jointly demonstrate Saab’s small Arms Virtual trainer (SAVIT) technology at LAAD exhibition 2013.

“Saab is a big and recognised partner in military and security training throughout many parts of the world. The aim for our partnership is to jointly address the virtual simulation business in Brazil. As Anacom also have offices in several places in Latin America e.g. Chile, Argentina, Peru, Colombia and Ecuador there is also potential for us to expand into these countries in the future,” says Åke Albertson, Saab Country Manager Brazil.

“Our company is linked to cutting-edge technology since its inception, and we have introduced to the Brazilian market several new products with these characteristics. Now with this partnership with Saab we have great support for technological co-operation, and access to high level of expertise in simulation” says Carlos Eugenio Lion, President and CEO Anacom.

Brazil is an important growth market for Saab, and with this partnership Saab can deliver key next generation technical and military capabilities providing for national autonomy in future design, development and operation.

Since 1988, Anacom offers products for electronic design and development to Brazilian market, and, throughout its history, the company has established itself in the market by offering innovative solutions that follow global trends and technology, including simulators, 3D scanner and printers, among other solutions. With a strong presence in companies of various sectors, Anacom also stands out with a portfolio of major global manufacturers, which are leaders in their respective fields not only for their participation in the market, but mainly for providing new technologies.

Saab serves the global market with world-leading products, services and solutions ranging from military defence to civil security. Saab has operations and employees on all continents and constantly develops, adopts and improves new technology to meet customers’ changing needs.
