SAN DIEGO: San Diego based Icon Systems, Inc., has been awarded a contract to provide Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES) Combat Vehicle Systems (CVS) to the U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI). The contract, awarded through Tec-Masters, Inc., is worth $35 million if all options are exercised.

MILES CVS will replace older MILES equipment currently used in the Army's force-on-force training exercises with state-of-the-art equipment providing better training fidelity. MILES CVS utilizes One Tactical Engagement Simulation System (OneTESS) technology, while providing an advanced training capability, reduced life cycle support costs and more realistic simulation technology for combat vehicle systems.

Work on the project will be completed in the Icon Systems San Diego and Orlando offices. Both offices anticipate expansion as a result of the contract.

“The MILES CVS program takes advantage of Icon Systems' core competence – delivering reliable and innovative tactical engagement simulation systems to our military customers,” said Himanshu Parikh, CEO and founder of Icon Systems. “We are pleased to be chosen by Tec-Masters as a key team member to provide our troops with realistic training systems.”

Icon Systems specializes in state-of-the-art design, development and production of innovative, rugged, and quality Tactical Engagement Simulation Systems (TESS) products which promote and enhance warfighter and first responder readiness and effectiveness. Icon Systems, established in 1992, is a privately owned and operated company, with engineering, manufacturing and administrative facilities in San Diego, CA and Orlando, FL.
