, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia have signed agreement with the Swedish company “Saab Bofors Dynamics AB”, which was recognised to be the most suitable supplier for the joint Baltic procurement of ammunition for Carl Gustav grenade launchers.
The common weapon system was selected for the first joint Baltic procurement to allow the Baltic States to save financial resources by merging procurement volume based on standardised requirements.
To guarantee fixed price and secure deliveries, Latvia and Lithuania have signed agreements with the merchant for five years, while Estonia have signed such agreement for four years.
After agreeing general provisions and deadlines of the joint procurement, the Baltic States have signed separate agreements. These agreements stipulate additional terms and conditions to include desires of each country regarding delivery deadlines, terms and conditions, payment schedules and secure delivery terms.
The signing of agreements with the Swedish company took place on 11 July in Riga, 23 August in Tallinn and 27 September in Vilnius.
