, A majority of MPs have agreed to the Dutch shipyard De Schelde building two corvettes for the Indonesian navy.
The main parliamentary parties supported the cabinet decision to grant an export license. The small left-wing opposition parties GreenLeft and the Socialist Party were opposed because of their concerns about human rights violations in Indonesia.
The Indonesian navy says it needs the corvettes to fight the international illegal arms trade and increasing piracy in the Strait of Malacca.
