Sikorsky Aircraft, DUBAI, UAE: Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. has completed delivery of eight UH-60L Black Hawk helicopters to the Kingdom of Jordan. Sikorsky, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp., made the announcement during the Dubai Air Show.

The Jordanian Special Operations Aviation Brigade has been using the Black Hawk helicopters for special operations and border security since the first three were delivered last summer at a ceremony in Amman, Jordan. The remaining aircraft were delivered to Jordan in October. The aircraft were part of a foreign military sale structured through the U.S. government.

“The Black Hawk helicopter is designed to stringent U.S. military standards and has become a world leader in multi-mission aircraft with its ability to be quickly deployed and reconfigured for a variety of missions,” said Stephen B. Estill, Sikorsky Vice President. “The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Sikorsky Aircraft have maintained a long relationship and we are honored to provide these versatile aircraft as we look forward to continuing our relationship for many years to come.”

Since 1987, the Royal Jordanian Air Force has flown Sikorsky aircraft and currently operates five UH-60/S-70A helicopters in its Royal Squadron.
