STERLING HEIGHTS:  The U.S. Army TACOM Lifecycle Management Command recently awarded General Dynamics Land Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics, $145 million for contractor logistics support of the Stryker family of combat vehicles.

Vehicle support, resets and upgrades are a continuing portion of General Dynamics' combat systems-related business.

This contract, awarded December 21, 2006, funds contractor support of U.S. Army Stryker Brigade Combat Teams in the United States and overseas, including: ordering spare parts, managing a spare-parts warehouse, worldwide distribution of repair parts and completing maintenance services on the Stryker vehicle fleet.

Work will be performed by existing General Dynamics employees in Alaska, Hawaii, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington, Canada, Germany, Iraq and Kuwait. Work is expected to be complete by February 29, 2008.

General Dynamics Land Systems designs, manufactures and supports land and amphibious combat systems for the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps and allied nations. Headquartered in Falls Church, Va., General Dynamics employs approximately 81,100 people worldwide and expects 2006 revenue of approximately $24 billion. The company is a market leader in mission-critical information systems and technologies; land and expeditionary combat systems, armaments and munitions; shipbuilding and marine systems; and business aviation.
