PAPENDRECHT, Netherlands: Stork Fokker, a Stork Aerospace company, announced today it has received a contract from The Boeing Company for manufacture of the CH-47F Chinook aft section major subassemblies.

This package would put work at Stork Fokker’s facilities in Papendrecht and Hoogeveen, and will involve 15 other Dutch companies as part of the company’s extended supply chain. First delivery is scheduled for the second quarter of 2010.

The Chinook aft section contract reinforces Stork Fokker’s role as a major aerostructures supplier. The company already supports the AH-64D Apache and C-17 Globemaster III for Boeing’s Integrated Defense Systems business, as well as the Boeing 747-8 for its Commercial Airplanes business.

“This aft section work forms a perfect match with Stork Fokker’s core business of complex aerostructures,” said Stork Fokker President Hans Büthker. “This contract highlights the excellent HSM (Hi-Speed Machining) and Sheet Metal skills and assembly capabilities of our dedicated, specialized employees. We are delighted with this new opportunities for growth that this contract brings.”

The CH-47F Chinook is a multi-mission, medium to heavy-lift transport helicopter. Its primary mission is to move troops, artillery, ammunition, fuel, water, barrier materials, supplies and equipment on the battlefield. Its secondary missions include medical evacuation, disaster relief, search and rescue, aircraft recovery, fire fighting, parachute drops, heavy construction and civil development.

The Netherlands Government has purchased six CH-47F Chinook aircraft from Boeing to expand the tactical transport capability of missions abroad.

Stork Aerospace develops and produces advanced components and systems for the aircraft and aerospace industry, and supplies integrated maintenance services and products to aircraft owners and operators.
