, BERN, Switzerland: RUAG Aerospace, a subsidiary of the RUAG technology group, has secured an order worth around CHF 12 million to supply self-protection systems for helicopters belonging to the Swedish Air Force.
The Emmen-based company's Integrated Self-Protection System (ISSYS) protects aircraft and helicopters against guided missiles and laser-guided weapon systems by using flares to deflect the weapons from their target.
ISSYS has already been successfully incorporated into the Swiss Air Force's fleet of Cougar helicopters.
Now a contract to outfit helicopters belonging to the Swedish Air Force has been signed, the first portion of which is worth CHF 12 million.
