Rosoboronexport, Traditionally, Russia takes part in the LIMA Exhibition. At this salon Russian defense industries can show their capabilities to the full extent possible, in the interests of military and technical cooperation with the countries of South-East Asia and the Asia-Pacific region, in general.

Southeast Asian countries rank among Russia's priority partners in military and technical cooperation. In this region, Malaysia and Indonesia are the major importers of Russian armaments. In concrete terms, the 2003 delivery contract of Su-27 and Su-30 combat aircraft and Mi-35 helicopters to Indonesia was successfully performed. There are good prospects for the further development of military and technical cooperation with that country, including aviation and naval equipment. For almost ten years MiG-29 fighters have been operated by the Malaysian Air Force. In addition, delivery contracts of Metis anti-tank guided-missile systems and Igla man-portable air defense systems were successfully carried out.

Russian-Malaysian relations have received a powerful impulse as the result of the visit by the President of the Russian Federation V.V.Putin to Malaysia in August 2003, during which a contract was signed for delivery of 18 multi-purpose Su-30MKM fighters for the national Air Force. Within the contract, Rosoboronexport carries out several offset programs, with a Malaysian cosmonaut flight to the International Space Station as the key project planned for 2007.

In accordance with the decision of the Government of the Russian Federation, Rosoboronexport is authorized to supervise the Russian exposition at LIMA'2005. It represents more than 20 enterprises of the Russian defense industrial complex. There are over 450 military and dual-purpose exhibits displayed at the Russian stands.

Aviation equipment, antiaircraft defense systems, space technologies

Russia has strong positions among the leading world exporters of military aviation equipment. Air and space services make a large share of annual foreign deliveries by Rosoboronexport exceeding $5 bln in the past several years.
