Rosoboronexport, MAKS 2005 has once again confirmed its status as one of the largest air shows of the world. A record number of 654 companies from 40 countries have participated in the event. The Rosoboronexport State Corporation has acted as the host of the official delegations from more than 70 countries, ensuring their efficient visiting of the Moscow Air Show.

Rosoboronexport proudly continued its presence at the 2005 International Aviation and Space Salon in Zhukovsky, this time as the General Sponsor of the Salon, thus rendering a comprehensive support and assistance to the Organizers of the Air Show.

The most notable event that marked the first day of the Air Show was the signing of the contract between Rosoboronexport and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) in the presence of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. Under the contract, the Indian Company will buy the AL-55I aeroengines with the option of their further production under license in India.

A high point of the second day of MAKS 2005 was another deal signed by Rosoboronexport for supply of the two Russian-made IL-76MF military transport aircraft to the Jordanian Armed Forces. His Majesty King of Jordan Abdullah II, attending by his goodself a ceremony of inking the agreement, has emphasized growth prospects for the development of bilateral military-technical cooperation with the Middle East countries. This is for the first time ever the aircraft of this type have been exported, which is a real breakthrough for the Russian Aviation Industry.

MAKS-2005 has also become for Rosoboronexport a good stage of useful, direct and constructive contacts and discussions with the Heads of enterprises and agencies of the Military-Industrial Complex of Russia and their foreign counterparts. In particular, the General Agreement between Rosoboronexport and the Russian Space Agency was eventually signed. The document will contribute to the coordination of the agencies' joint efforts to more effectively promote products and services of aerospace industry in the world market.

On August 18, 2005 the Russian-Italian negotiations resulted in signing the General Agreement between the Rosoboronexport State Corporation, Irkut Joint Stock Company, Yakovlev Design Bureau and the Finmeccanica Group of Companies
