Raytheon Company, RESTON, Va: The Warrior Training Alliance (WTA), led by prime contractor Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC in collaboration with Computer Sciences Corporation, has been selected to oversee the landmark consolidation of the U.S. Army's live, virtual and constructive training operations and support systems worldwide.

The Warfighter Field Operations Customer Support (FOCUS) contract to improve the readiness and effectiveness of U.S. Army soldiers carries an estimated total program value of $11.2 billion over a 10-year period.

The Warfighter FOCUS program will enable the Army's transition to the most modern, collaborative and information-enabled training environment in the world. The WTA was selected based on its experience, solutions and existing presence spanning all critical dimensions of U.S. Army training. Supporting Raytheon are CSC and 64 additional teammates – 43 of which are small businesses – committed to innovation and excellence in warfighter training.

“We are honored the Army has selected the WTA for this historic training consolidation initiative to best prepare the soldier of today and the future,” said William H. Swanson, Chairman and CEO, Raytheon Company. “The WTA team has demonstrated it has the best vision and value proposition in Mission Support and brings an exciting model for integrating and advancing Army training on a global scale.”

The Warfighter FOCUS program of the U.S. Army's Program Executive Office, Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO-STRI) will consolidate operations, maintenance, systems integration and engineering support services for the Army's live, virtual and constructive training systems. The WTA will deliver to PEO-STRI integrated, turnkey, life-cycle training services and support worldwide under an indefinite delivery-indefinite quantity contract.

Work performed by the WTA will include support for training exercises and operations; maintenance for all training and range systems; curriculum development and instruction; management oversight and administrative support for contractor activities; and supply support for all government-owned property and material.

“The WTA team is already in place at 93 percent of the Army's training sites and is proven in performance,” said Richard R. Yuse, a Raytheon Company vice president and RTSC president. “This alliance is ready and will ensure training continuity to provide smooth contract transition.”

More than 3,400 contractors currently serve more than 150 manned sites and 458 unmanned sites with training devices worldwide.

“CSC is proud to be a part of the WTA,” said Austin Yerks, president, CSC's Defense Division. “This critical milestone will allow us to expand our commitment to our national defense and the readiness of our warfighters worldwide. We are excited at the prospect of our role in preparing our country's soldiers to defend freedom and in supporting the transformation of our Armed Forces.”

The WTA has also established an innovative relationship with small businesses to take full advantage of as many entrepreneurial solutions and capabilities as possible. Small business members will benefit from collective mentoring from RTSC and CSC and further advance their capabilities through greater access to business-to-business training opportunities provided by RTSC and CSC.

“These small businesses will have a strong voice in helping the WTA develop and implement solutions upon which soldiers can rely for the best readiness training anytime, anywhere,” Yuse said.

The Warrior Training Alliance of industry leaders in training brings proven, current and relevant experience across all training environments, including live, virtual and constructive. With a combined legacy of successfully executing large-scale and complex programs, the WTA is organized to apply the right resources to successfully accomplish each task and to deliver the best value, lowest risk solutions.

RTSC, a subsidiary of Raytheon Company, provides technology solutions for defense, federal and commercial customers worldwide. RTSC specializes in Mission Support, counter-proliferation and counter-terrorism, homeland security solutions, base and range operations and customized engineering and manufacturing.

Raytheon Company, with 2006 sales of $20.3 billion, is a technology leader specializing in defense, homeland security and other government markets throughout the world. With a history of innovation spanning 85 years, Raytheon provides state-of-the-art electronics, mission systems integration and other capabilities in the areas of sensing; effects; and command, control, communications and intelligence systems, as well as a broad range of mission support services. With headquarters in Waltham, Mass., Raytheon employs 73,000 people worldwide.

Computer Sciences Corporation is a leading global IT services company. Headquartered in El Segundo, Calif., CSC reported revenue of $14.7 billion for the 12 months ended Dec. 29, 2006.
