Northrop Grumman,

San Antonio TX: Northrop Grumman will highlight solutions to support national security and homeland defense next week at the U.S. Geospatial Intelligence Foundation's GEOINT 2005 Symposium. The exposition is being held this week at at the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center, San Antonio, Texas.

Mission success depends on incorporating sophisticated geospatial and geographic information system solutions into government, military, intelligence and homeland security information technology infrastructures. Northrop Grumman addresses its customers' geospatial challenges with its comprehensive solution set GeoEnterprise Solutions.

“Northrop Grumman is a leader in providing geospatial intelligence capabilities and applications that help protect and secure the United States from outside threats,” said Sid Fuchs, president of Northrop Grumman's Information Technology sector's TASC business unit. “From the sea to land, to air and space, Northrop Grumman's interoperable geospatial solutions help deliver actionable geospatial intelligence and continued mission success for our customers.”

Northrop Grumman will demonstrate its GeoShield and GeoWireless solutions for situational awareness. GeoShield develops and integrates network-centric architecture for future command, control, communication, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems.

The solution provides situational awareness, terrain analysis, tactical decision aids and terrain reasoning for the armed services across common platforms and interfaces. GeoWireless enhances situational awareness through a geospatial foundation and a wireless communications infrastructure. This application shares geographic data seamlessly between multiple government agencies and first responders for informed decision making and improved situational awareness and readiness.

In conjunction with the Environmental Systems Research Institute, Northrop Grumman is the developer of the Tracking Analyst and Tracking Server solutions. Tracking Analyst is a desktop tool for visualizing, displaying and analyzing temporal data in the ArcGIS product. Tracking Server provides the capability to collect multiple data feeds and transmit real-time, event-based information to Web clients, customer applications and Tracking Analyst for in-depth analysis. As the developer of the Tracking Solutions suite, Northrop Grumman offers customization and integration of these systems into geospatial information system applications.

Northrop Grumman will also exhibit its Space Radar Program featuring intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities for warfighters and the intelligence community. Space Radar satellites provide global and theater situational awareness, as well as day-night, all-weather access into areas denied to other assets.

Northrop Grumman's GeoEntrerprise Architecture is based on a foundation of interoperability, in addition to being a vendor neutral, standards-based approach that is transforming the way geospatial data is published, accessed and used. Architectures based on single vendors and local data holdings create data redundancy.

This open architecture highlights the best practices for developing integrated solutions by leveraging the large body of geospatial standards, specifications, architectures and services. Additionally, by advancing a new language for geospatial intelligence via the geoSemWeb solution, Northrop Grumman is able to handle and interpret considerable measures of geospatial intelligence.

To understand the affects of human activity on the earth, geophysical intelligence can provide information about current and previous human activity taken from physical evidence in the earth's soil, vegetation, geologic surfaces, water and atmosphere.

Northrop Grumman's Geophysical Intelligence capability will help analysts understand the geophysical signatures of underground facilities, cave-based facilities, buried weapons of mass destruction, mass graves, lines of communication and other national security features of interest.

Northrop Grumman will also showcase the latest addition to the TouchTable product line from Applied Minds Inc. The new mobile TouchTable (TT45) is a 45-inch display system designed for tactical users and first responders, and is fully compatible with the collaborative TouchShare framework.

The TT45 has a multi-touch sensitive screen that allows users to view and easily manipulate complex data and high-resolution digital imagery, such as geographic information, that cannot readily be represented on a standard computer display. The TouchTable product line is developed and provided by Applied Mind's TouchTable business unit.

Visit the Northrop Grumman exhibit at booth 509 for more information on the company's breadth of geospatial solutions for government, military, intelligence and homeland security information technology infrastructures.
