LONDON: Northrop Grumman Corporation will display a range of its maritime defence capabilities and programmes including navigation and ship control systems, landing platform dock (LPD) amphibious ships and the International Patrol Frigate, at the International Maritime Defence Exhibition & Conference (IMDEX), Singapore.
IMDEX Asia is the only dedicated international maritime defence show serving the Asia-Pacific region and is being held at the Singapore Expo from 12-14 May 2009. Northrop Grumman is exhibiting at stand number 950.

Northrop Grumman will highlight its latest generation of navigation and ship control technology from its Sperry Marine business unit.
Sperry Marine’s VisionMaster FT provides a highly integrated fully networked suite of marine radar and electronic charting systems designed to form the backbone of the modern ship’s integrated bridge. In addition to the standard suite, Northrop Grumman will feature its integrated platform management solution as part of the VisionMaster FT defence offering. The solution is similar to the system that is currently being installed on the UK Royal Navy’s new Type 45 destroyers.
Navigation systems on show will include Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine’s MK39 ring laser gyro navigation system and the MK27 fibre-optic attitude and heading reference system for naval vessels.
The Scalable Ship Sensor Solutions display will feature Northrop Grumman’s decades of experience in developing, manufacturing and integrating world class sensors for naval application. The most advanced radar, EW and EO/IR technology can be custom designed to provide real multi-mission capability for fleets operating offshore patrol craft, brown water corvettes, or cruising the high seas.
Also featured will be Northrop Grumman’s LPD San Antonio-class amphibious warfare and transport ship and its International Patrol Frigate, a versatile and affordable warship based on the multi-mission National Security Cutter currently operated by the U.S. Coast Guard.
The Broad Area Maritime Surveillance Unmanned Aircraft System (BAMS UAS) will be highlighted. The company’s BAMS UAS capability is based on a maritime derivative of the combat-proven RQ-4 Global Hawk unmanned aircraft with sensors. The MQ-8B Fire Scout vertical take-off and landing unmanned aerial vehicle (VTUAV) will be featured.
Other capabilities on display will include the Vessel Traffic System (VTS) integrated coastal surveillance and port security system as well as the Integrated Combat Management System (ICMS).
