UK Ministry of Defence, Lord Drayson, Minister for Defence Procurement, today announced that the MoD had entered into a groundbreaking partnering arrangement with AgustaWestland which will improve the speed of delivery of new helicopters, reduce acquisition and support costs, and increase availability of helicopters to the front line.
The deal is a major milestone in the implementation of the new Defence Industrial Strategy (DIS) and will sustain critical helicopter design and engineering skills in the UK, and help ensure cost-effective support of the Armed Forces' helicopter fleet.
