MEDAL OF HONOR! I just recently traded in black ops for it and it is aweeesome! Pretty much follows a fictional campaign against the Taliban in Afghanistan 2001. :D Multiplayer is made by the Bad Company 2 creators as well. Which involved a coalition team (using strictly western weapons) and an Opfor team (Taliban team, Taliban was taken out because of the controversy caused when the media found you could play as the "Taliban" and kill "Coalition" soldiers. They use mostly eastern weapon, and like the GLA in CnC they got real shit tech, like laser sights that are sticky taped onto the gun :D)

The full title is "Medal of Honor"

Sadly no Destruction 2.0 but it does have the beta for Battlefield 3 :D (when it comes out) which have picked the Frostbite engine (bad company 2) for destruction.. not much is known on battlefield 3 but it could be bringing jets back.

And yes it does have sniper rifles! They are either perfect or annoying depending on who is using them. It is some of the best fun I have had in ages, being able to customise my M4 so that its range and accuracy exceed that of the M16 (without any attachments) with acog and laser sights :D :ar15
Campaign is epic

What is also great is Battlefield 2's Project Reality, which introduced new factions and intense realism. There are also some community factions (like Australia) which have been done up really well and the game is also very realistic. Where you have to "warm up" your rotors or whatever (Don't know the technical term) on your heli before you take off, unlike in other games where as soon as you get in you go (unrealistically). Most times when you are in a good team that are communicating you will be doing military formations and stuff. Leap frogging in urban environments and covering your squad as they move across a street and then they cover you as you come over to their side. Squads are also given specialised positions for individuals like MGs and :D grappling hooks!

Battlefield (and medal of honor) is a great series in all and I would recommend it to anyone here on this forum! If you are not into the whole realism thing, just get battlefield 2 and get an "Australian Forces" mod or any other mod depending on your country to get your country in the game. You will be deploying off carriers, flying F15s, F16s, F22s.. you NAME IT!

Hws the single player on COD Black Ops ?
I don't really like FVP games, especially when they are shooter. But I loved CoD Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops. & I have only played them in single player. Its really good. Loved the CoD-MW2. Great graphics, game play and story. Black Ops is quite close too.

Battlefield 3 comes out later this year, i have already pre ordered :D
Same here! In the seven years since it was released, I have yet to find a proper replacement for Battlefield 2, and that is despite keeping an eye on all the latest and greatest FPS games. Not one has come close to matching the Battlefield experience. Sure, they had plenty of shiny objects and medals for jumping 50 times, but no real squad-based large map combined arms excitement... so here's to hoping DICE doesn't screw the pooch on BF3!

BF42 all time fave

come on guys... i play bf since bf42 and this game was always multiplayer focused, I don't even play the solo parts, I just play some of the first levels to get a feeling for it.

And BC2 is great, as mentioned the trajectory of the bullits are great, it is so statisfying to hit someone very far away, i never liked to play as a sniper but in BC2 i just love it.

But the maps became so small, that's a huge minus.
Of cause it makes battles faster etc. pp but some larger maps would have been a major plus, the helicopters make absolutly no sense on most maps (and heli's are one of the best things of bf:bc =D)

BF42's Coral Sea scenario (multiplayer / download only) became so absolutely addictive I had to retire my joystick. I don't wonder why some kids get sucked into gaming limbo.

Played the CoD Black Ops single player in a single sitting whew !! quite good, i did like the MW2 slightly better though.
EEuugghh !

I got CoD4 (MW) for a xmas present the year it came out & 4 years on I still play it, though only online & only occasionally!

By the time MW2 was about to hit the streets I'd joined a league / clan & found out all the pit falls of MW2 & it's lack of proper online playability. Subsequently I never bought it, although I did download the Beta version & played it online for a week, it unfortunately proved that it was a complete bag of spanners & I had indeed saved myself £40 NOT buying it !

At the time, my online friends had started to drift across to Battlefield2 & 1942, just in time for me to buy battlefield 2, exactly 1 week before BFBC2 came out.

I gotta say I love it & the 4 new recently introduced which are MASSIVE on a 30man server !

I also opted to buy Black Ops on say of release & enjoyed it for 2 weeks, till they decided to supply 'fixes' to some of the issues, which then stopped me playing it for 3 months as I 'inherited' a lot of the bugs that the fixes were supposed to get rid of. Only in the last 4 weeks have things come back to some sembalance of normality.

Anyways, I can't wait for Battlefield 3 in the fall, but I know that there are probably gonna be a few games in between that I'll want to own...

The BEST PC game for Real-War Strategy on a Global scale has to be SUPERPOWER. Hands down. This is NOT a FPS, nor a RPG either. This is a Reality -Based WW3 Sim, which is played at Americas War Colleges. I know that the younger posters like action games, and that this game is somewhat older, huge (!!), lacks the sophisticated graphics of a 32/64-bit system for platforms such as PS3, XBOX, XBOX360, or the older platforms (SEGA, PS2, et all). However if you want to truely understand Global War in a Modern world then tis game has it. *Warning* This is NOT a game you can play in one evening. I mean you can, but you would lose site of the details and therein lies the fun. It's ALL in there; from ICBM's, to R&D, Hidden Bases, vast financial resources (if you play one of the Superpowers that is-try playing Angola, and see what you get!). A real inventory of real Weapon systems, real time attacks, and a AI that is constantly learning0while you play the game. The game can be played over and over without repeating itself-unless you go Nuke happy in which case the game basically ends the same way each time-Nuclear Winter. Again, I stipulate that this game is NOT for the weak-minded how want to run around and "blow things up" type of gamer. It is for the serious gamer who wants to plan, strategise, develop, field, maneuver, etc., an inordinate amount of Troops, Tanks, Planes, Helicopters, Ships, Subs, Alliances, etc.
Not for the overnite. This game is HUGE!!

The best FPS game i have ever played is the Project Reality mod for Battlefield 2.

Google it, there is too much to explain why this game is good

I would have to go with games like operation flashpoint, ARMA and battlefield bad company 2. Definitely going to get ARMA 3 and batllefield 3.
