, SELEX Sistemi Integrati, a Finmeccanica company, signed a 20 million euro contract with the Yemenite Coast Guard for the supply of an integrated surveillance system – VTS (Vessel Traffic System) – to secure the Yemenite coasts.
The system will provide coverage of about 450 kilometres of coasts along the Red Sea and in front of the Eritrean and Somalian coasts and represents a first step of a complete surveillance programme including two further development phases.
