Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) will unveil a new lightweight airborne SAR/GMTI payload at the 2011 Annual Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Meeting & Exposition in Washington, DC, October 10-12, 2011 (IAI North America – Booth #2424).

The new ELM-2054 radar system, developed by ELTA Systems Ltd., an IAI group and subsidiary, provides a cutting- edge solution for all-weather, air-to-surface Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) applications. It features modular, open architecture and can be easily configured into small tactical unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), light reconnaissance aircraft, tactical aerostats and more.

ELM-2054 reflects the maturity and proven capabilities of ELTA’s legacy ELM-2055DX SAR/GMTI modular payloads. It employs the latest advanced technologies to achieve high performance combined with a very low weight, small volume packaging and low power consumption.

Nissim Hadas, President of ELTA Systems Ltd. and IAI Corporate Vice President said:” ELTA’s years of experience, know-how and innovation, continue to provide customers with unique products and capabilities like the new ELM 2054 radar. This system will support ground forces and save lives in regular and asymmetrical combat operations”.

Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd. is a recognized leader in the aerospace and defense industry and is Israel’s largest industrial exporter. ELTA Systems Ltd., a group and wholly-owned subsidiary of IAI, is one of Israel’s leading defense electronics companies and a leader in Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance (ISTAR), early-warning command & control, homeland security, self-protection & self-defense and fire control applications.
