General Dynamics Land Systems , General Dynamics Land Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has signed a teaming agreement with Denel of South Africa to jointly customize and market more lethal, long-range and lightweight 105-mm artillery systems for domestic and international customers.

Denel is the world leader in the development of long-range artillery systems. General Dynamics Land Systems is the defense industry's largest system developer, integrator and manufacturer of ground combat armored military vehicles. The company designs and builds armored vehicles and systems worldwide.

'This is a very strong and natural match,'said James Vickrey, director, Artillery Programs, for General Dynamics Land Systems. 'We have been working with Denel since 2002. This agreement formalizes our efforts and capitalizes on the world-class capabilities of both companies for our customers.'

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (St. Petersburg, Fla.) also has teamed with Denel, to provide the U.S. Army and Marine Corps with artillery ammunition solutions that have enhanced range, lethality and performance over existing artillery.

General Dynamics, headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia, employs approximately 64,600 people worldwide and anticipates 2003 revenues of $15.5 billion. The company has leading market positions in mission-critical information systems and technologies, land and amphibious combat systems, shipbuilding and marine systems, and business aviation. More information about the company can be found on the World Wide Web at www.generaldynamics.com.

Denel is the biggest South African defense company and employs approximately 12,000 people. Its corporate office is in Pretoria, with several divisions operating all over South Africa. The company is world leader in Artillery integrated ballistic system design and manufacture, with leading edge technology in barrel and breech design, gun propulsion and high lethality, accurate ammunition.
