Sagem Unveils the New Artillery Positioning and Pointing System

Sagem Defense, NEW DELHI, DEFEXPO:  At the DEFEXPO defense exhibition here in New Delhi, Sagem Defense Securite (SAFRAN Group) is showcasing for the first time its ULISS 30 XP, a new positioning and azimuth determination system (PADS) used for artillery pieces, or to carry out topographic missions. 
 
The compact, standalone ULISS 30 XP system, which can be mounted on light vehicles, features the latest technologies, including: 

– SIGMA 30 digital laser gyro navigation unit with integrated theodolite. 
– Touch screen with mapping display. 
– High-energy NiMH battery. 
 
ULISS 30 XP can be fitted as original equipment on newer platforms or retrofitted to modernize artillery units already in service. 
 
ULISS 30 XP offers excellent performance for the cost, and extends Sagem Défense Sécurité’s range of artillery systems. 
 
Sagem Défense Sécurité is a technology leader in artillery systems, with a full range of equipment for all types of weapons: observation systems and optronic sensors, navigation and pointing systems, fire control, computers, digital mapping, systems integration. Artillery systems by Sagem Défense Sécurité are in service in about 20 countries.
