Two of the three Littoral Combat Ships that had taken over the minesweeping role in the Middle East have just appeared in Malaysia.

I noticed 2 dome shaped things at the rear corners of the flight deck. Does anybody have any idea what they are? I'm going to assume they are related to mine sweeping, but I have no idea what they are , how they work.

Not sure, but they look like standard sized SATCOM domes to me. Not sure why you'd put them aft on the flight deck corners though. Could be a adhoc installation at the time the photo was taken.

Suspect it is something to do with USV control, but I’m no expert.

Given the delays with the Ford class construction, second CVN JFK, which is not due for operation until 2027, it is hardly a surprise that CVN Nimitz will continue to serve until 2027. The current situation illustrates why a return to the 12 CVN fleet size is needed.

Speaking of Nimitz class, be interesting to see if the USS Abraham Lincoln was hit or not, and the reason for moving it

Considering how we know of a laundry fire and plumbing issues on the Ford. It’s unlikely that the Lincoln being so much as scratched would stay quiet for long.
Iran right now seems to be living in the shadows of the Iraqi Information minister in 2003 and the Argentinian Airforces in 1982. Claiming victories everywhere and Carriers sunk both with “Trust me Bro!” As their evidence. Right up till the day the British scrapped her many Argentinians claimed HMS Invincible at the bottom of the Atlantic.
USS Lincoln was probably relocated due to shifts in the operations.

Even the evidence that she has been moved seems concocted- it describes her as “quivering in the Gulf of Oman”. Doesn’t exactly sound as if the reporter is objective.
