Hello Everyone,

My name is OperatorWuk, I am 21 years old, and I am an immigrant. my nationality is Polish but I want to get a British Passport as I have lived here for 15 years and I work as a SAR Operator.. my duties are to provide first aid from a helicopter around the coast of the UK. the reason I want to get a British passport is to get into the British Military as an EMT...thats my dream, sadly my grades from high school aren't the best as I was bullied for being Polish, so I would skip classes and not go to school..school was a rough time for me but I never gave up on my self, I never had suicidal thoughts and always pushed my self..yes I might have been the naughty kid because I was running around the corridor because..here in the UK you cant stay inside of the high school like you can in Poland, you are forced to be outside even if you just want to sitdown somewhere...its a bit shit but there are ways around it, anyway ive decided to improve my grades and im currently working on fixing my grades up alittle and paying A SHIT ton of money to become a British Citizen, the UK has not done anything for me except provide my family with better money work wise(no we dont live on benefits we work hard) and a good job for my self ..I worked hard for it and people still say immigrants come here and steal our jobs. anyway its geniuennly ridicoulus ive fillied in my papers to become british and I was rejected twice for not providing a few papers proving that I lived here for a long time even tho I have papers dating back to my primary school...anyway...back on track ive paid at least 2.5£K last year and got rejected. keep in mind my lawyer said I have all the right papers...now gladly the price as of last year went down soo its only 1£K but its still a lot of money and paperwork.
Btw the UK has this thing called cadets...Air Cadets and Army Cadets, I've done my fair time in Air Cadets and Army Cadets and I highly recommend it join as soon as you can..you'll get to fly and shoot some great weapons...that's how I got my PPL cheaper :)you will learn some history of the UK and the military its all BIAS btw..anway thank you, air cadets, SQN 271 that's as much info as I will give.

my story is that I am a Polish who lived in the UK for 15 years works as a SAR Operator and wants to get into the British army as an EMT Emergency medical technician, and I got rejected twice for my British Passport..some might say go back to Poland then..but lets be honest have you seen the Polish military? I do not wish anyone to go to the Polish military...I know its sad for me to say that but it's true..Poland has only good SF units and a few good Police units..no hate to all my Polish Brothers but you guys have a heart of steel to be in the Polish army...anyway nice to meet you all..hope that our passion for the military will get us talking have a good one all.

(I love the Polish Military history, in fact, I love all the military History)

This post isint to hate on anyone but to tell you guys the truth as someone who grew up in another country, No Media no lies.

Hello,
I am a new member based in the UK. I am pleased to have discovered this forum as I have been interested in all things military for as long as I can remember. At my boys’ boarding school I greatly enjoyed the Officers’ Training Corps but I decided I was not enough of an all round athlete for a military career. Also I would have found it impossible to decide between the Army and Navy as I am extremely interested in both!

I also studied Politics at university and have a keen interest in world affairs and geopolitics. While my main interests are in the British Army and Royal Navy (especially from WW2 to the end of the Cold War), I would also like to learn more about the Australian Armed Forces as I was born in Melbourne (but have lived in the UK for the age of 6).

Looking forward to posting and corresponding.

Cheers,

Douglas

G'day Douglas, welcome to the forum. We hope that you enjoy your time here. Please acquaint yourself with the rules. I would suggest that if you were / are going to join up, join the Navy. Not only is it the senior service, but also why carry you home around and live in a hole when your home can carry you around and give three hot squares a day? :D You don't have to be an all round athlete or a Hussain Bolt, just be fit. Also, officering isn't all that cracked up like what they claim :D I was lower deck in both the RNZN & RNZAF so my prejudices probably show, but only in friendly banter. I was lucky to serve with some officers whom I'd follow into hell and back.

G’day Sir, Many thanks for your very friendly welcome. I’m actually a bit too old to join up now although I am fit because I am a keen outdoorsman. However I am still interested. Corps at school and college was exclusively officer-orientated; I enjoyed it but at that time there was a greater emphasis on athletics. I wasn’t bad (I played Rugger for the House when I was at school) but was more academic really. While my main interest has been the Army for many years I am now more inclined if anything towards the Senior Service. I take your point about lower deck and love all forms of banter!

Yes, I used Sir out of politeness but there was an element of leg-pulling involved as well because of your comments on officers. I know that Rugger/Rugby (whichever term you want to use) is a religion in NZ.
Cheers,

Good Evening all

Originally i am from the UK however i currently reside in Canada, i spent 3 and a half years in the merchant navy of which 9 months of that was STUFT.

I specialize in Logistics and have worked almost my entire career in transport, specifically the movement of specialist cargo's predominantly for defense, these would be sea land or air movements, and during my time i have managed or taken part in major logistics projects, which include war games and exercises for NATO and associated allies, i have also worked along side but not directly for FOST.
I have worked with nearly every NATO partner country specifically in the area of logistics and supply chain, i have also worked with associated powers such as Australia, Sweden, South Korea and Japan, as well as been invited to other non member countries such as China and Russia to participate in bilateral events.

Sounds fancy its really not, it is mundane and can be as simple as getting a can of soup half way across the world yesterday.

I look forward to seeing whats on the forum and chipping in where i can and learning something new.

Thanks and Kind Regards

Hello,

I think defence enthusiast in the context of this site probably assumes more knowledge than I have, but I'm definitely fascinated by the topic. I'm from Canada and have great respect for our military men and women. I'm excited to join this community and looking forward to learning new things.
