Mi-171SH Helicopters for Croatian Armed Forces

Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant, Negotiations concerning the Mi-171SH helicopters delivery were started a year ago after application of Ministry of Defence of Croatia, which was granted to FSUE “Rosoboronexport” in November, 2005. 
 
In June 2006 in Moscow there were carried out the negotiations connected with main delivery terms and conditions co-ordination, and on July 4 in Zagreb the representatives of FSUE “Rosoboronexport,” in the person of Director General S.V.Chemezov, and the Croatian party the contract was signed. 
 
The Russian delegation included OPK “Oboronprom” Director General D.V.Manturov and “Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant” Director General L. Ya. Belykh. It is planned, that 10 military-transport Mi-171SH helicopters with set of aviation goods, providing the helicopters operation, will be delivered to the customer within 2007. 
 
According to terms and conditions of the contract the helicopters will be delivered for repayment of the state debt of Russia, which is the assignee of the USSR for the republics of the former Yugoslavia. Simultaneously the contract for training of flight and technical personnel of the buyer was concluded, the first stage of which will be carried out on the base of JSC “U-UAP” and the second one on the territory of Croatia. 
 
Exact periods of deliveries will be determined after signing the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of Republic of Croatia about settlement of obligations of the former USSR, connected with payments for the goods turnover between the former USSR and the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. 
 
It is the third case in the history of the plant on the foreign market work to deliver its production for repayment the debt. Such deliveries were carried out previously in Czechia and Slovakia. Settling with the manufacturer is fulfilled by the Ministry of Finance of Russia under the determined terms of payment.
