Novinite , Italy's Defence Minister Antonio Martino, who is currently on a visit to Bulgaria, and his Bulgarian counterpart Nikolay Svinarov have discussed opportunities for boosting cooperation between the two countries in the fields of national security and defence, officials said Tuesday.
The two ministers then introduced Bulgaria's Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg to their mutual coopeartion projects, and received his full support, according to Svinarov. He said that the prime minister called for those projects' implementation as soon as possible.
Italy stands firmly behind Bulgaria's efforts to join NATO, the Italian top official underlined, adding that his country had also turned out to be Bulgaria's main trade partner.
