UK Ministry of Defence,
Members of the PLA AF led by Major General Cai Fengzhen, Deputy Chief of Staff PLA Air Force, paid a one-day visit to RAF Leuchars.
Air Officer Scotland and Station Commander RAF Leuchars, Air Commodore Clive Bairsto, who accompanied the visitors throughout the visit, greeted Major General Fengzen on arrival.
The Chinese Air Force delegation’s working level visit to the Royal Air Force was to look at how the transformation to an Expeditionary Air Force is being implemented and the processes being used. Other areas of interest include, understanding the system of initial and professional RAF training and to appreciate the RAF’s principles for the maintenance and sustainment of deployed air operations.
Air Commodore Bairsto said; That he was delighted to host the visit of the Peoples Liberation Army Air Force and of the importance for our two countries to work closely together as there are benefits to both sides, he also hoped the visit would help further bi-lateral relations between our two countries.
