FORT WORTH, Texas: Elbit Systems of America, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Elbit Systems Ltd. has been selected by the U.S. Army as part of an industry team led by Rockwell Collins for the system integration and prototype phase of the Ground Soldier Ensemble (GSE) program.

Elbit Systems of America and Rockwell Collins together formed “Team Spartan.” The team was selected in a competition among several U.S. companies to develop the next-generation soldier-worn computer system. The system will provide situational awareness to soldiers during intense operations in a configuration that optimizes size, weight and power, and can be customized for different missions.

“Team Spartan represents the best possible combination of companies, skills and combat systems experiences,” stated Raanan Horowitz, President and CEO of Elbit Systems of America. “Together with Rockwell Collins, and Boeing we will provide our country’s front line men and women superior situational awareness and information superiority in a way that ensures they can execute their missions effectively and come back safely.”
