12 PC-24 and 24 PC-21, however what be more intriguing is the possible notion of those PC-21 will be station at UAE as part of Flying School.

Now this company E-System Sollution EZ also working with Indonesian MinDef to provide agressor squadron using refurbished Mig 29 (under this company ownership). Could this PC-21 actually owned by them with TNI-AU as client, or they are operators under contract from TNI-AU as owner and main users.

One thing that seems more and more plausible. Mindef seems working on with this company to provide different training regime, then what TNI-AU current training infrastructure.

Even seeing it under a wing, in flight, isn't proof of integration. It could be a fit test before deciding whether to proceed with integration. It would show that both parties have a serious interest in integration, though, & I agree that seems to be the case here.
Well that's why I gave similarities example with BAe offer for Hawk 200 on option for BVR Missile with Skyflash. In the 80's they market Skyflash as weapon options, shown the Skyflash in major airshow as part of Hawk 200 weapons portfolio. However that option not being use, as none of 3 users choose BVR option.

Just like Hawk 200 example, M346FA clearly also marketed with BVR option. It is back toward any potential or current users that want to exercise or modified that option. Still it is in my opinion Leonardo have stronger BVR stance then KAI with FA-50 Blk 20 BVR option with AIM-120. As so far US seems not provide yet the clearence, eventough KAI and Raytheon clearly already done work toward that.

The image from enthusiats in X with ID Alphanovember. Put it here as could it be after all speculations in various potential procurent, in the end TNI-AU will have both of them as main fleet ? Rafale already with the talk of additional 18, while KF-21 Blk2 seems gaining momentum. Both will use Meteor as main BVR.

Could this talk of Su-35, J-10B/C and JF-17 become serious or only just talk ? Could Rafale and KF-21 can be TNI-AU main fleet in Western Indonesia, while Su-30/35 and J-10 in Eastern Indonesia ?

An Enthusiast id Fadli in Indonesian forum put this summary base on what already in inventory, in contract, and rumours already in serious engagement.

What being rumours are BUK-MB2K from Belarus and HQ-9 from China. The operators also different, with Trisula using Hisar and Siper going to be operate by Army, The Air Force operate Nasams and HQ9, while BUK being rumours either operate by Army or Marines.

NASAMS is the only ITAR missile in this portfolio planning. This not include ship based SAM that will be MBDA VL Mica, MBDA Aster, and Roketsan Siper.

Further batch for Rafale is in intense negotiation for finalisation. If this happen, this is mean 5th batch contract as:
  1. First Batch contract for 6 Rafale F4,
  2. Second Batch contract for 18 Rafale F4,
  3. Third Batch contract for 18 Rafale F4,
  4. Fourth Batch contracf for Armament supplies,
  5. Fifth Batch contract (potentially between 12-18) for more Rafale F4.
#5th if being taken, potentialy it will make 60 Rafale F4, and by quantity and amount size will make the biggest fighter purchase in Indonesia since Soeharto fall. Last time big quantity procurement happen in the 90's for 40 Hawk 200/100.

All thing consider, including geopolitics and fiscal pressure, if this contract being taken, it will raise question on availability of fiscal to execute More Flankers, or J-10. As KF-21, by end of this month, Prabowo going to Seoul to talk on Economics and Investment cooperation. However it is also being rumours to finalise KF-21 question Indonesia looks to revive KF-21 contract with Block 2 acquisition on Indonesia involvement in the program.

More Flankers and J-10 is rumours aim on interim fighters for Eastern Indonesia Airspaces. The contracts for both Fighters is more low profille then Rafale and KF-21. Indicating in my opinion that they will come directly from Rusia and China active inventory. Something more low key as second hand assets this days are more politically sensitive.

As for me, if both Rafale and KF-21 being execute, it is doubtfull at present global economic pressure, they can afford interim fighters. Hopw they just keep present Flanker and F-16 until early next decade when all Rafale and hopefully KF-21 can come.

What a mess...

I don't understand why they have to source BUK from Belarus, why can't they just find a Chinese equivalent. Heck, replace Mistral with QW-3 too. At least with the Chinese, their industrial base can support a large order of missile.

Honestly I hope TNI is smart enough to see from the wars in Ukraine and Middle East that you need both volume and layers for AD.

I think they see that, and MinDef try to build that. However the way that seems going on the procurement have combination of affordabilities and sources diversification.

Basically it will be Roketsan and MBDA sources on main idea, with Trisula system and Ship base system. However now seems some in MinDef believe Russia-Belarus and Chinese sources need also to be taken. Why ? Well in my opinion again 'politics' playing with business opportunities.

Looking on this they clearly try to source SSM with Cakir and Atmaca and SAM with Hisar and Sungur. Sungur basically Shoorad that can replace QW3 in the inventory. I think some guys in MinDef believe on stop gaps needed. So this BUK I don't think going to be source much, just like NASAMS.
