Jane's claim Singapore ready to launch the MRCV #1 in October. That's fast comparing to Arrowhead 140 launch schedulle whether with Babcock, PAL or Gdynia. While MRCV larger then Arrowhead 140.

ST Marine productivity shown it can match ROK, Japan and China shipyards. Eventough due to real estate availability it is smaller.

Interestingly it doesn’t look like the sonar dome has been fitted as yet

Came across this photo this afternoon showing the top view of the MRCV. Looks like there are more VLS cells than shown on the scale model.

Can any experts share more opinion? Pardon the photo resolution. This is what the original poster shared on the FB post.

The space in the "B" position (in front of the bridge) will most likely be where the VL MICA and the ASTER 15 VLSs will be located. Similar arrangement on the UK Type 45 I believe (although there it is Sea Ceptor and ASTER 30). Different VLS for different AA missles.

Aster 15 fits in Sylver A43, shorter than the A50 needed for Aster 30. A70 (needed for MdCN) is the longest.

There was an A35 which IIRC could take VL MICA. I don't know if it's still marketed.

I still see the VLS arrangement still same as latest model that Xavier take. It is still 4x8 Sylver VLS. I suspect the anggle of taken from the drone video that give impression 2 types of different size of VLS.

It is likely that the actual armaments fitting has yet to be revealed which is a normal situation for Singapore. Looking forward for more details. Thank you!

In May 2025, RSN announced its decision to upgraded its old OTO Melara 76mm guns to Strales 76mm guided guns with DART ammunition.
It was a wise decision in hindsight... especially with lessons learned from current Iran War.

Italian navy claims Strales System 76mm DART ammunition is capable of countering several subsonic missiles up to 8km away.

(Littoral Mission Vessel RSS Justice (18) has been upgraded with STRALES 76mm guided gun)

Strales 76mm guided guns with DART ammunition will probably be armed on all RSN blue water capable ships, from future MRCVs & OPVs to current LMVs & upgraded Frigates... maybe also Endurance-class LPDs.

1st images of Blue Spear SSM mounted on mid-deck of Formidable-class frigate RSS Steadfast.
These frigates could theoretically be armed with up to 6 quad packs - max. 24 Blue Spear missiles.
Blue Spear Missile canister launcher & rack looks similar to Gabriel V missile canisters mounted on Israeli Sa'ar 5 & 6 missile corvettes.

Pictures were taken by Japanese photographers at Tokyo International Cruise Terminal.

After participating in RIMPAC 2026, RSS Steadfast is making a port call at Tokyo to celebrates 60 years of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Japan (1966–2026).
