I think that Mirage 2000 only makes sense for countries that already operate it, so already have a support base, trained pilots, etc.

Taiwan has been reported to be unhappy with French support, & there is the issue of French willingness to annoy China. Probably the least likely.

Egypt is a possibility. The last I heard still had some Mirage 5s in service. M2000 would be a good short/medium-term replacement.

Greece is disposing of its oldest M2000s, but keeping the 2000-5s for now. Getting some more could be a relatively cheap way of maintaining numbers.

And, of course, India, where the biggest obstacle is probably the Indian procurement system. India could emulate with M2000 what Pakistan did with Mirage III/V, sweeping up retired aircraft for spares, but that's probably too logical.

Those last three all operate or are buying Rafale, so are committed to a continuing relationship with France & Dassault.

But for Indonesia? No, not a good idea.

More photos from LM FB page on TNI-AU first C-130J-30. This is the first brand new C-130 for TNI-AU for almost 4 decades. Last brand new C-130 coming from C-130H program in the 80's. After that TNI-AU only got second hand L-100-30 ex Indonesian Airlines (Merpati and Pelita) plus second hand C-130H ex RAAF.

Those C-130H (TNI-AU original plus ex RAAF) and C-130B already upgrade to H standard and L-100-30 re engine with C-130H standard, being talk will equiped two C-130 sq (in Malang and Makasar AB)

This C-130J supposed to equip C-130 sq in Jakarta AB (that has existing C-130 being moved to other two sq). Question will be with only five C-130J, will the additional going to come from newly build C-130J or second hand ones (rumours MinDef also taking with UK MinDef for some of decommission ex RAF J's).

Airbus rumours on lobbying combo sq of C-130J and A-400M for Jakarta AB heavy lift sq. Off course there are rumours of A-400M still in discussion because Airbus want to renegotiate the price. This particular rumour being circulate by the Twitter guy. Considering he is Sales agent for Euro OEM, it might be his rumour on this particular issue has some ground.

One thing though just like Mirage 2000 second hand as interim fighters, This A-400M being talk as not TNI-AU preference, but being preference from MinDef. TNI-AU rumours as still prefer more F-16 and C-130J.

Then the drama will still continue.

Sadly we lost again an aircraft, but..
1. The pilot survived
2. It is a 25 years old Hawk Mk.209 we lost and not a T-50i / F-16 / Sukhoi.

Btw, 6 F-16s and a C-130H (A-1318) safely arrived in Darwin for Pitch Black 2022.

DI announced to the public that they are ready for Mass Production stage for N219 regional commuters plane. This is the product that some in 'financial' industry in Indonesia looking in how DI manage to launch it. This is the product that Finance people see as 'Do or Die' for DI as Aerospace Company.

Latest promotional video from DI on N219. They are trying to shown image this is new DI by using their Millennials staff in the video. Trying to revamp with the N219 production, DI is reborn.

The media announcement shown how they are going to focus on three products line: N219, NC212i and N230. On business side, this is make more sense. In such with their capacity, focusing only to three products. Similar with the SOE ministry plan for new capital injection to DI that must focus only to products that can create commercial sense.

NC-212i is more proven products and support by Airbus, so it's no brainer to be one of the focus. N219 is DI 'must to prove' product. What interesting is what they call N230. DI already talk before on their own follow up version of CN-235. So is this N230 will be ? As before they call the concept of N245 as commuter version of CN-235 (without back door ramp). So let's see what this N230 going to be. Hope this is not some journalist mess up, but hope not, as this N230 also quoted by several medias.

For a moment i thought you was talking about the N2130, but that is a program which stayed a dream more than 20 years ago.

The N245 is a not too complicated modification of the CN235, and because of that it had not so much risks compared to totally new projects.

About the N230, does the design/project even exists? Its not the first time that multiple Indonesian press/news channels brainlessly copy-paste each other's texts without checking the facts.

About the new N219 promotionvideo, i think these are just models from the clothesbrand, not IPTN-employees.
Well lets hope that the sales and production of the N219, NC212 and CN235 go smoothly and efficiently in order to make IPTN a company which can make profits. But it will need to increase production rates and the government should support IPTN with orders.

Well I do hope they are as you put, missquote announcement. However as I have put it on my post, this N230 already quote by several medias. So either they are collectively missquoting, or the DI offcial that doing it.

DI already shown from previous media interview on their plan to 'independently' modified CN-235 for their own developement. This is in the sense similar with what Casa doing with C295. However unlike Casa done aim for more transport version, DI want to go to Turboprop airliners version with this N245.

So where this N230 coming from ? Is it this new atteration from N245 design ? So either the press doing collective missquoting or DI call the N245 design now as N230. I don't think with their resources, they have time and effort to build another design. This N245 already been doing preliminary work around, thus it is reasonable to expect any new design will relate to that work.

From Indonesia avionics company Infoglobal, on the visit from Boeing team. Boeing team already come to Indonesia looking and assessing several Aerospace related industry in Indonesia. Just like Dasault done before, they are looking for potential offset job to be done in Indonesia, related toward potential procurement deals.

What's interesting is the 'rumours' circle around from some corners on which procurement with Boeing will be. There're enough indication that Indonesia can not afford all items that being discussed with Boeing before, whether CH-47, P-8, E-7 or F-15ID.

Local defense sites talk rumours of reduce number of F-15ID from 36 to 24, the make it more affordable. There's rumours also from finance corner on ditching F-15ID and focus only for Rafale and upgrade program on F-16, however Boeing still got slice of cake with either or both P-8 and E-7.

So, there's enough indication that Boeing will get something, thus why they are sending team to assess potential partner in Indonesia doing offset job (direct or indirect). Question still remain what kind of procurement contract Boeing will get.

Some rumour talk the result on TNI-AU participation in this year RAAF Pitch Black, and some external consultants advisories, shown more important to complete AEW and ISTAR assets then new fighters. So let's see how this turn out. Quite interesting to see if MinDef going to logics or Show Off Muscle.

Does the rumor mention the price or how many units are looking to be ordered?

Not so much on the number (at least from Finance guys). However more on choices whether goes with Fighter (F-15ID) or AEW-ISTAR assets (E-7/P-8). As there's seems under present economic situations, there are not enough fiscal justification toward both types of assests.

Thus rumours of reducing the # of F-15ID from 36 to 24 coming from local online sites. However from finance people the rumours that I heard is to choice either ones, and can not both. Basically by end of this term, it is very tight fiscal budget already and no much room for defense increase. Especially the need to do some reserve fund for next year. This is due to contagious effect potential due to prediction of continous more recession in most OECD.

Video from Kompas online, where DI Finance Director told media they already got allocation contract from government (MinDef and Ministry of Transportation) of 10 + 1 each contract.

The Transportation minister 1 and MinDef 10 seems for multipurpose transport basic types. Don't think it is for special purpose variance as the MinDef order being allocate to the Army (TNI-AD). Quite turn around, as before it is expected it will be for TNI-AL on MPA duties replacing Australian Nomad that already been mostly takin out from active operation.

This order from Indonesian government is basically a "must". Nobody will buy your airplane if your own government does not order first.

Put the Tweeter guy tweet this time, since this's already (and got bit confirmation from finance people) more or less fix. This is from my understanding is financing for 2nd batch of Rafale. Thus seems indicating the rumours before of the payment for Rafale will be divided on three batches. First batch for the first six (that's being signed by Parly and Prabowo with both Macron and Jokowi as witness).

The first Six is 'rumours' using foreign credit slot that supposedly prepared for Su-35, and this second batch if not mistaken use the slot that supposedly for F-16V. So until now basically they (finance guys) still not committing more credit line then already prepared before (from last term) on fighters program.

Any more financing batches after this, it is then will be additional credit line allocation (as being talk before in media). That's will be the big question, if this administration want to commit more credit line allocation in their last term up to 2024.

If we see Bapenas green book in 2021 and 2022, foreign credit line for MinDef were mostly for Armed Forces medical infrastructure (in which being used as part COVID contingencies). Thus if nothing changes (yes it still can be changes even already put in Green Book), this can be say as first batch of credit line allocation, that being use for defense items procurement since COVID.

At least as good sales guy for Euro OEM, seems the Tweeter guy finally earn his pay.

Airbus Lobby on Indonesian aerospace at it's finest. Shown how far reach of Airbuses lobby for Indonesian aero contract still bit up a notch compare to the competitors.

This is not just good marketing, the influence is also because of the decades long cooperation between Europe's aerospace industry and IPTN, and the willingness to let IPTN build aircraft components for their products, much more than US companies.

The images below is from a visit of the Indonesian ambassador to CASA/Airbus' A400M and C295 facility.
Just a visit of a diplomat, nothing more.

MinDef FB, where Deputy Defense Minister talk about how he came to visit some type of Aircraft that will be in Indonesian AF inventory. He specifically talk on A400M and Rafale.

There's enough chatters in SOE ministry on A330MRT. The way the talk is looking for way to help Garuda (by buying some of it's inventory of A330-200 as part additional quasied capital injection) and provide work to Garuda MRO Subsidiaries. However seems the money trails going to Rafale and A400M first, and at least Rafale money trails has shown more so far.

Two A400M being slot as replacement for 2 KC-130B. Let's see on MinDef and SOE ministry plan for A330 MRTT scheme (as double to help Garuda) can get through finance people filters.

That's what seems the plan before. As A400M seems going to use SOE budget. However seems things change. Seems MinDef got their own budget for A400M.
