ITT Corporation, WHITE PLAINS: ITT Corporation has signed a contract for more than $5 million with Forsvarets Materielverk (FMV) of Sweden to supply a transportable GCA-2000. Delivery of the radar in early 2007 will enable the Swedish Armed Forces to expand its capabilities in supporting its mission requirements, both domestically and in support of the European Union (EU) Forces. Work will be performed by the Electronic Systems Division, Radar Systems – Gilfillan.

The GCA-2000 is a state-of-the-art air traffic control (ATC) radar and is one of the top precision approach radar and landing solutions in the world. The radar combines a surveillance radar, for controlling arriving and departing aircraft in the immediate area around the airport, with a precision approach radar for guiding aircraft to safe landings in extreme physical environments. The GCA-2000 is able to change runways in less than a minute to support variations in landing conditions.

The ITT family of ATC solid-state radars is available in fixed, transportable, and mobile versions for both civil and military applications worldwide. They are the number one choice for military ATC services in the world and are operational, in various configurations, in several countries.

Electronic Systems, Radar Systems Vice President William Devlin said, “We're pleased to be recognized as one of the world's leaders in tactical air traffic control systems and we support Sweden and the European Union members in a wide range of operations.”

ITT provides state-of-the-art air defense, surveillance, multifunction and air traffic control radar systems for U.S. and international land and maritime applications. Offering more than 60 years of leadership in radar technologies and services, ITT is also a leader in the development of miniaturized active array antenna modules and subsystems for sensor and communications applications.

ITT Corporation supplies advanced technology products and services in several growth markets. ITT is a global leader in the transport, treatment and control of water, wastewater and other fluids. The company plays a vital role in international security through its defense communications and electronics products; space surveillance and intelligence systems; and advanced engineering and related services. It also serves the growing leisure marine and electronic components market with a wide range of products. Headquartered in White Plains, NY, the company generated $7.4 billion in 2005 sales.
