This doesn't belong in the Russian-Ukrainian War thread. Nobody's using ICBMs, or likely to be. Perhaps the Russia and the West thread would be best.

Vladlen Tatarsky, a pro war Russian military blogger has been assasinated in a cafe in St.Petersburg.

After Daria Dughina, this is another high profile assasination of pro-war propagandists.

Unlike Dugina, Vladlen was a front line war journalist. He regularly visited the front line and posted buckets of footage for free. His murder is a crime, and quite possibly an act of terrorism that should be condemned. Killing people for their opinions and the media they publish is despicable.

Right, it is propagandist for West. Wondering what Western media going call in assassinations in public place. If this is done by Russian, we can be sure it is already up and armed in all Western Media as terorism and human rights violations. Or do we call also Western Propagandist media??

I think in general "Western media" are careful with using words like "terrorist", as described in these guidelines from BBC, which I recommend you have a look at: http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/guidelines/editorialguidelines/pdfs/reporting-terrorism.pdf

Apologies for submitting wiki but murders of journalists have been ongoing in Russia for over twenty years why is this one special?
List of journalists killed in Russia - Wikipedia
The on going murders of journalists during the last 20 years were done by Russians (mostly Putin operatives). These recent murders, probably Ukrainian agents were responsible. Tatarsky was a mutt but it is unfortunate others were hurt.

Yet in same time if this is happening in Western soil with some anti Russian journalist or opposition, there's already condemnation on Western media and their pundits on directing the blame directly to Russia. There's none that even talk from media pundits shown condemnation toward journalist killings. Seems again whose side journalist are matter anyway.

Why is an act of terrorism? Considering that Vladlen Tatarsky, actually Maxim Fomin:

"... posted a video in which he vowed: “That’s it. We’ll defeat everybody, kill everybody, rob everybody we need to. It will all be the way we like it. God be with you.Prominent Russian military blogger killed in cafe blast
Those certainly aren't the words of an accredited journalist. He's no more a journalist than the wikileaks founder, or Vladimir Putin. Russian journos who don't toe Putin's line find themselves in deep trouble;
  • stay in a prison colony,
  • being mobilised,
  • defenestrated, or
  • poisoned etc.

Furthermore who says it was a Ukrainian hit? It could've been a:
  • FSB hit because of his criticism of the Russian military effort.
  • Putin doesn't like any criticism and maybe Fomin, to use his real name, stood on one toe to many or has outlived his usefulness.
  • Putin sending a message to Russian bloggers that criticism of the army's war record is no longer tolerated.
  • It could've have been an organised crime hit.
  • May have been a Russian resistant hit.
The point is that we don't know and labelling it as terrorism is just Russian propaganda.

The guy who was killed was not a journalist. He was a blogger. Some of the statements he made before he was killed:
"We'll defeat everyone, we'll kill everyone, we'll rob everyone we need to. Everything will be as we like it," he was shown saying in a video clip last September at a Kremlin ceremony where President Vladimir Putin claimed four occupied regions of Ukraine as Russian territory.

He also had some enemies in the Russian establishment:
He was critical of Russian military commanders and highlighted the problems of the Russian Army. In a recent video, he suggested that nothing would change if “you replace the defense minister or chief of the general staff.”

“We need to change the system,” he said.

Well there's enough bloggers in the West that call themselves and regards by some as Journalists. or is it now the ones call Journalists only for those work for mainsteam media, especially mainstream media on 'approve' western standard.

In anyway is it make it allright to be killed in public place like that with explosive devices ? Injuring civilians ? Is this not act of assassination bordering cross to terrorism ? Something that 'deserve' condemnation in mainstream media including western ones ? Unless western media acknowledge they are working on different level of standard.

Or rather now try to deflect the blame to internal Russian politics as Kviy try to do.

If it makes you happy, please continue to call him a journalist. I, and a number of other people, strongly disagree. He was a blogger.

Where does this come from? Who has said "it is allright to be killed in public place"? and "injuring civilians"!? Please stop inventing things.

Did you read the guidelines I linked to above?

Interesting that the bombing took place in Yevgeny Prigozhin,s cafe, Does a propagandist become a combatant when they advocate heavily for warfare? any footage of Vladlen Tatarsky on the front does not show him wearing anything to identify him as a journalist but seemed in regular military uniform ,I have taken the opportunity to read his posts and view videos one including Wagner troops mistreating a tied up prisoner

Yes off course, I understand on the double standard believe any way. Off course everyone free on what they're believing.

Please stop inventing things.
Inventing this ? whose inventing ? You bring out the arguments on Blogger not Journalists. Remember I post that there's no condemnation in western media for Journalists killed. So again some will call him journalists and some will insist him as bloggers.

So what ever it is, again is it excusable to be kill in public space ? So stop try find excuse. And yes, I already knows your so call 'guidelines', and doesn't excuse lack of condemnation on western media. Are you able to shown why your precious 'guidelines' allow western media to directly put blame on other sides, if opposites happen ? It is already shown several times.

Are still have other western condescending value to put ? As ussual ?

There is a difference between a journalist who tries to report things Putin doesn't like, or a peaceful political opponent of Putin, & someone who says on the record such things as "We'll defeat everyone, we'll kill everyone, we'll rob everyone we need to. Everything will be as we like it". That's not journalism.

Well maybe he's not a journalist on some 'mainstream' western media standard. However there's also those 'bloggers' in west in each side of extreme political spectrums, that some still call them Journalists.
