PAL owns the design of the Makassar Class LPDs, for years they have invested in training and facilities, and they are now also the only one in Indonesia with the expertise and experience of building LPDs. So it is unlikely PAL will just give away the blueprints and all knowledge/IP. It is like demanding that IPTN give away the licence of the NC-212 to another company.Indonesia: 'green water navy'

On this post above already put progress on KRI Belati KCR 60 build by private yard Tesco Indomaritim. Put another photo that shown SSM launcher already installed. Not clear yet whether this is going to for Atmaca or Cakir SSM.
Some enthusiast insist this is for Atmaca, but I also previously see the talk that Missile Boats will get Cakir SSM and Corvette and Frigate will get either Exocet MM40 and Atmaca.

PAL seems already giving KCR or other Missile Boats deal to private yard. However this is what PAL also should do with LPD. Give it to local yards in order for them to focus on more complex project.

This Roketsan rendering on Cakir Shore Based launcher, seems shown similarity with launcher install at KRI Belati. Still Atmaca SSM also shown simiarities only bit longer. So at this point it is still can either be for Atmaca or Cakir.
This is the sea based launched for the Cakir SSM which is a box. More likely Atmaca.Indonesia: 'green water navy'

This one is from the airforce.... sad news, Indonesia doesn't have many of these CN235-220 MPAs. It looks like a collapsed landing gear to me.
Longer, but slimmer. Much lower displacement: about half the tonnage. At 143m, PPA is bigger then Makasar class LPD and Arun (ex Green River tanker), which so far are biggest vessels in TNI-AL. Perhaps it is one of reason that large Frigate like PPA and FMP rumours will be house at 2nd fleet HQ in Surabaya Naval Base. Surabaya Naval Base had been build to handle Cruiser size vessels since the 30's by the Dutch. This PPA is the biggest surface naval combatant that TNI-AL have for 50 years after TNI-AL let go Sverdlov Cruiser KRI Irian and it's escort the Skory Destroyers. ..
Seems like the Aster VLS are actually installed - but the Aster 30 missiles itself are FFBNW? In the end - the Navy will end up w 3 VL SAMs then - VL Mica, Aster and Hisar?View attachment 53467
From MinDef FB, the Defense Minister, TNI Chief, TNI-AL Chief take photo sesion on board Indonesia first PPA KRI Brawijaya. It is schedule that the second PPA KRI Siliwangi will arrived either end of this year or early next year.
Thanks for the correction, yes it is longer but on full load Makasar class LPD and Green Rover class Arun still heavier.not bigger, but would need a longer quay or dock.
If Sylver VLS being retained, as rumours there're marketing lobby effort to change it to Midlas VLS so with argument of commonality toward FMP and Istiff VLS and Hisar SAM. Personally I found it remote, thus in my opinion it is still going to be Sylver VLS with Aster. But yes the VL SAM at TNI-AL inventory potentially will be MICA, Aster 30 and Hisar. In the end - the Navy will end up w 3 VL SAMs then - VL Mica, Aster and Hisar?
As long as Political support for Drone Carrier still strong, I sense it will going to be procure one way or another. Afterall they already make contract with Bayraktar for TB-3 drones, and Turkiye already shown it can be operated effectively from Anadolu LHD. Prabowo also want to have that capability.I believe Indonesia should invest in larger bases and better infrastructure first, before thinking about adding an aircraft carrier to the fleet.
