The only doubt regards the french ASW Fremm variant that was built with A43 but then probably upgrade to A50.

Only the last two of the six ASW FREMM were upgraded to A50 in 2018, D651 Normandie and D655 Bretagne. The four older FREMM ASW have A43.

Since A50 can accomodate both Aster-15 and Aster-30 (or the new variants, 30B-1 or 30B1NT) it would be very wise to do same as european users and standardize on A50 cell.
Aster 15 and Aster 30 costs more o less the same because the missile is the same, the difference lies in the Booster, that is bigger in the Aster-30 for extra range.


The new versions of the Aster 30 will actually implement a better missile while keeping the same booster.

According to MBDA Aster 15 EC will have much longer range than the current Aster 15 (60 km?), will have a shorter minimum range (already less than Aster 30) & will still fit Sylver A43, but it's not available yet.

And it still takes the same deck space as Aster 30.

I take screenshots from PAL Video that shown state auditors team visit to 1st FMP construction. Most of the superstructure seems already assembly, while couple weeks ago still mostly hull. When they are getting assembly quite rapid, means most of modules already ready and just need assembly.

On July 17, 2025, Turkiye's Sefine Shipyard held keel-laying ceremony for two KCR-70M fast attack craft (FAC) for the Indonesian Navy.

Naval news on bit more detail for that 70m KCR/FMB from Turkiye. This two will be first TNI-AL FMB with Turbine Gas after 4 ROK build Tacoma Marine FMB in the 80's.



From the Indonesia Ambasador in Turkiye X that become Naval News reference, seems the moduls already quite far in assembly.



Comparison of this KCR 70 with Palindo KCR 60 in IndoDefence shown similarities in design. Perhaps that's part of off set deals.

Take screen shoot from PAL video on meeting between them with Romanian delegate representing their Shipyards. When talking about PAL and Romania shipyard, Damen Romania shipyard come to mind.

They are hand shake over SIGMA 10514 model, and Damen Romania was building some of the modules for PKR SIGMA. Seems they are talking on further potential SIGMA co-op, even though Fincantieri also have presences in Romania shipyards.

MinDef at this moment have discussion with Turkiye shipyards on Istif Class, but both Istif and Sigma PKR basically are in similar range of Light Frigates. For me, despite bigger Frigate like Arrowhead and PPA or potentialy FDI, FREMM or even Type 52D, got feeling realistic budget Will drove more Light Frigate and Corvette types as main backbone.

Perhaps this is just my wish, but better to rebuild this program, rather then find some other candidate for light frigate. I know the problem before is their unsatisfying working agreement with Damen. Also MinDef felt Damen asking too much for Light Frigate, compare to other potential partners in market. Let's see if this lead to something new.
