The Brazilians have a lot of experience of keeping old ships functioning, albeit at a low tempo of operations. They've replaced 1950s US amphibs by 1980s British & French amphibs in recent years, & they still have a British LSL from 1967 & a 1970 ex-USN LST. I wouldn't be surprised if they bid for the San Giorgio & San Marco (commissioned 1988) to replace the two oldest when they're replaced in Italian service.
