Well if we have 1 bil pop. then we hardly need to rely on a foreign power for defence. What's the economy look like if Australia supports a 1 bil. population?

Wouldn't you rather discuss real-life militaries and situations instead of making wish-lists? I know the people around this forum tend to prefer that, so you'll probably get more responses with that sort of discussion, if that's what you're after.
