I've started to become interested in learning about the Cambodian Civil War. Personal curiosity, really. No academic or professional stake in it. What are some good books to start reading?
The Third IndoChina Conflict (W.P. Elliot (editor) published by Routledge originally by Taylor and Francis, 1981 but several later editions published). One of the sections covers the Vietnamese Invasion. And links it into the Vietnam War and the Sino-Vietnamese War.
The Third Indochina War: Conflict between China, Vietnam and Cambodia, 1972-79(Westad Odd Arne, Quinn-Judge Sophie (editors) Routledge 2006)
A couple of relevant Theses, heaps more on the web and there are a few documents on the CIA (they and the opposition communists both intervened to protect their respective interests in Vietnam and Cambodia's institutions were destabilised):
Helion Company are due to publish a new title by Ken Conboy in the Autumn ' The Erawan War Volume 1' Although not Cambodia per say, it is about its neighbour Laos and the CIA.
