Fire and smoke fill the air as a Standard Missile 2 (SM-2) is launched from the aft Vertical Launching System (VLS) during a RIMPAC 2006 live fire exercise onboard USS O' Kane DDG 77. Eight nations are participating in RIMPAC, the world's largest biannual maritime exercise.
