Seems to me that this proposed design looks alot like the F-35 JSF that our Air Force is working on. The might have spies on the team working on the F-35 (...it wouldn't surprise me at all to find this out).
the chinese can persue this technology because of what the rand corporation calls a "purchasing parity index" simply put it's cheaper to make something ther then in the states.they don't have to pay 250 million dollars per copy as is the case with the f-22 or jsf-35
