Persian Gulf (Dec. 16, 2005) - An F-14D Tomcat, assigned to the "Blacklions" of Fighter Squadron Two One Three (VF-213), piloted by Commanding Officer, Carrier Air Wing Eight (CVW-8), Capt. Bill Sizemore, is directed into position for launch aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71). The flight marks Capt. Sizemore's 1,000-carrier recovery aboard an aircraft carrier. Roosevelt and embarked Carrier Air Wing Eight (CVW-8) are currently underway on a regularly scheduled deployment conducting maritime security operations.
