Pacific Ocean (Sept. 12, 2006) - Lt. Cmdr. Sean Opitz signals to launch an E-2C Hawkeye assigned to Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron One One Five (VAW-115) off the flight deck of USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) during air wing squadron fly-off. Currently underway in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility, Kitty Hawk demonstrates power projection and sea control as the U.S. Navy's only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier.
