Tanks and carbon fibre.

With modern super cars all being about carbon fibre this and carbon fibre that it got me thinking why don't we try and make a tank out of it? It would be much lighter, more economical, more reliable (due to the more efficient and smaller engines needed), smaller making them harder to target and as carbon fibre is supposed to be stronger have better armour as well so why are they not a thing?

I see the problem that they may initially be more expensive but the savings on fuel alone would be substantial (unless for some unknown reason you decided to stick a Veyron engine in it to make a sports tank but I have a feeling that going 200 mph over the kind of terrain tanks go through would be rather unnerving) and they can also get advice from the F1 teams as they seem to know what they're doing.

So, why aren't tanks made from carbon fibre?

So, why aren't tanks made from carbon fibre?
The strength of carbon fiber AFAIK does not include good impact resistance. It's more torsional and compression strength.
