Exactly. All Royal Marines do the same course comprised of Basic training and "initial employment training". Whether they be officers or OR's. All of them (irregardless of their actual occupation within the RM) are trained as rifleman right from the very beginning. They then move onto specialised areas with the RM, but are infantry trained at the start.
30 weeks is a long course, but it's not much longer than the Australian Army system for Infantry which is now (I believe) 28 weeks. No doubt they get a bit of leave between phases...
