Well handover of modernized and overhauled aircraft continues with 3 MiG-29s, at least one of them a UB, and 4 L-39 modernized to L-39M.

Lenta.ru:

The rates are slow, but at least some are being brought back to flyable condition.

Last year I read an article in a German aviation journal, it said that there are 36 Su-25 left in service. However, many of them are probably in poor condition and under repair. Officially Ukraine has about 190 combat aircraft, but how many would be operational in case of a conflict is another question.

The future of Ukrainian air force depends on political situation in country. Current political leaders are totally corrupted (President Yanukovych was in prison twice). The value of his residential "Mejugirja" is probably the same as a couple of modern fighters (some photos: Âñåðåäèí³ ''Ìåæèã³ð'ÿ''. Ïåðø³ ôîòî íå÷óâàíî¿ ðîçêîø³ | Óêðà¿íñüêà ïðàâäà). A half of economy is in shadow because of raidering (when businessmaen from president's party takes away businesses from other businessmen including foreign) and non-fair and non-equal taxes policy. Until such people rules the country, Ukraine's army has no future.

Well, unfortunately, the situation isn't going to change in the near future. Even without Yanukovich the ruling elite in Ukraine won't stop taking all money they can get. The longer this goes on, the less chances Ukraine has to rebuild its economy as the population is declining and the infrastructure is in decay.
Hopefully, some day a new political force will emerge, which will carry out economic reforms and fight corruption. i have several Ukrainian friends, and it's depressing that they have to leave their country in order to have some career perspectives.

But back to topic, the Ukrainian Air Force will not receive any new combat aircraft until 2025. The MoD has declared that until then upgraded aircraft will be kept in service (AIR International). It would be interesting to know how many aircraft are planned to be kept. In 2015, there will only be 160 left, and most of the current inventory will have to be retired over the 2015-2020 period.
