Update.

Sumy area.

Ukrainian forces re-entered Bezsalevka, but reportedly failed to consolidate there, turning it into no-man's land. Russian forces have inched forward in Yunakovka, now controlling almost all of it, and have recaptured Varachino.

Kupyansk.

North of Kupyansk Russian forces have substantially expanded their area of control around Kamyanka. Meanwhile Ukraine has retaken ground in Glushkovka and now holds either all of almost all of the village. South-west of Kupyansk Ukraine counter-attacked and re-entered Moskovka. Inside Kupyansk Russian forces have pushed southward from the western side.

Russian forces in the center of Kupyansk. Note it's not clear if this is actual Russian control or just penetration by infiltrators. The flag posing suggests the former, but it could be deceptive. Reports from Russian command indicapte Kupyansk is partially encircled with penetration marked much further southward then most OSINT maps. This indicates either that OSINTers are behind the reality, or that Russian command is badly misinformed, or of course that this is all misinformation for public consumption. Russian OSINT sources seem to think Russian command is just plain wrong and the suriyakmaps source indicates as much.

Russia hits a Ukrainian pickup truck somewhere in the Kupyansk area.

A small bucket of Russian drone strikes hitting a couple of tanks, an SP howitzer, a couple of armored cars, and pickup/SUV. This is all the Kupyansk area.

Russian strike on Kupyansk-Uzlovoy, allegedly targetting Ukrainian UAV operators.

Russian Kh-39 strike on Petropavlovka.

Russian strikes on the crossings over the Oskol near Kuypansk continue.

Oskol front.

Russian forces have taken all of Kolodyazi and broad swathes of countryside around it, flanking Mirnoe. On the western side Russian forces have taken Srednee, entered Shandrigolovoe, and then flanked it from the south, cutting if off from Krasniy Liman. Torskoe is fully under Russian control. West of Torskoe Russian forces are crossing into Zarechnoe. In the Noviy Mir and Novomikhailovka area a Ukrainian counter-attack has pushed Russia out of both, but then Russian forces re-entered Novomikhailovka. Ukraine has also recaptured Grekovka, even as Russian forces took a large chunk of fields north and west of it. Meanwhile Russian forces have taken Gluschenkovo, and pushed northward from there, forming a precarious salient. Ukraine has also made gains in Redkodub.

We have a flurry of footage of Ukrainian vehicles getting hit. This is the result of Ukrainian counter-attacks at Karpovka, Redkodub, and Novomikhailovka.

Russia hits a Ukrainian van in the Krasniy Liman area.

Russian strike on a Ukrainian police unit stationg in apparently a sanatorium by the Severskiy Donets river, south-west of Krasniy Liman.

Seversk salient.

Ukraine has begun counter-attacking towards Serebryanka, but the village remains almost entirely in Russian hands at this time. North of the river Russian forces have taken most of the Serebryanskaya woods. After nearly 3 years of heavy fighting Ukraine is withdrawing.

We have what appears to be the first footage of a Russian interceptor drone downing a longer ranged Ukrainian FP-1 drone.

Konstantinovka.

Russian forces out of Predtechino pushed all the way to the outskirts of Kosntantinovka. Ukrainian forces managed to push back into Predtechino, contesting the village, and pushing Russia away from the outskirts of Konstantinovka. Russian forces meanwhile have captured Katerinovka, advance north of Kleban Byk towards Nelepovka, and have taken some more ground in Scherbinovka which is now almost completely under Russian control. From the west Russian forces are advancing on a broad front north of Rusin Yar and Poltavka. Aleksandro-Shul'tino is mostly under Russian control. Along the canal Ukrainian forces have pulled back, likely to avoid encirclement, giving Russia full control of the area directly west of it, between Chasov Yar and Toretsk.

Russian troops strike a Ukrainian boat on the Kleban-Byk reservoire.

Russia hit an XA-180 near Konstantinovka.

Russian Shahed strikes on Torskoe, a village north-west of Konstantinovka.

More FAB strikes on Konstantinovka. The target is allegedly an element of Ukraine's 28th Mech.

Russian Shahed strikes on Druzhkovka.

With the front line not moving quickly, battle damage is starting to accumulate in Konstantinovka.

Pokrovsk area.

West of Pokrovsk Russian forces have taken all of Udachnoe and pushed through the fields westward, reaching the region border south of Molodetskoe. In Pokrovsk city Russian infiltrators were initially repelled and Ukraine even re-entered Leontovichi. But now Russian forces have retaken it and restarted the push into Pokrovsk, and now these appear to be more than infiltrators. Russia is now holding positions in the center of Pokrovsk, through the Troyanda area. Russian forces also begun moving northward out of Lisovka, towards Chunishino, taking a large chunk of fields. Meanwhile Ukrainian forces have been counter-attacking into the southern part of Novoekonomichnoe and southward out of Mirnograd, gaining some ground in both areas, and in one case penetrating all the way to Mirnoe before being repelled. Meanwhile west of thenorthern part of Novoekonomichnoe, Russian forces took a chunk of fields. Russian forces have taken the waste water treatment plant north of Mirnograd. North of Pokrovsk Russian forces have restarted their advance, widening the salient in Novoe Shakhovo, and approaching Vol'noe.

East of the new Russian salient a pocket is forming with the village of Shakhovo at the center. Russian forces are trying to close it by pushing towards Sofievka from the east.

A Ukrainian Leo-2A4 managed to drive deep into Pokrovsk before being taken out by Russian drone operators. The last link shows the path the tank apparently took.

Russian strikes on Mirnograd.

Russian artillery fires, allegedly Krasnopol' guided shells, Pokrovsk area.

Russian Shahed and bomb strikes in the Dobropol'ye area. Targets include the Almaznaya mine complex, the Dobropol'skaya factory, a local police facility, and an industrial bakery. Reportedly they were being used as Ukrainian staging and logistics areas.

Dnepropetrovsk axis.

Ukraine has counter-attacked retaking most of Dachnoe. This is the second Ukrainian push back into Dachnoe, which itself lies in a lower area near the river. Meanwhile west of Dachnoe Russian forces crossed the Volchya and advanced towards the village of Filiya. South of the Volchya Ukraine recaptured Zeleniy Gay and re-entered Tolstoy before being pushed out of it. Russian forces have also gained ground around Malievka and are pushing on Voronoe. In the area immediately west of Orekhovo, Ukrainian forces have pushed back towards the region border eliminating the small Russian salient.

Russian strike on a Ukrainian vehicle near Drozdy, the vehicle is destroyed. It's apparently a Mastiff MRAP.

Russia hits a Husky TSV and a D-30 howitzer in the Filiya area.

Russian strike on allegedly a Ukrainian M198 howitzer position.

Footage has appeared that seems to confirm Russian control over Novoselka in Dnepropetrovsk region.

Russian bomb strikes on Novopavlovka.

Russian forces in the village of Zaporozhskoe.

Velikaya Novoselka.

Russian forces have taken Kamyshevakha and a large area north and south of it, pushing basically up to the regional border. This practically closes this area. I will make further updates regarding eastern and northeastern Zaporozhye under that heading, and the advance in Dnepropetrovsk region around Malievka in the Dnepropetrovsk axis category.

Zaporozhye.

In eastern Zaporozhye Russian forces are continuing their advance north of Olgovskoe, westward towards Uspenovka, and taken a chunk of ground south of Temirovka. Around Temirovka Russian forces have taken ground north and south of it. Obratnoe remains in Ukrainian hands. Near Orekhov Russian forces have advanced northward towards Orekhov, meanwhile Ukraine has recaptured some positions in Malaya Tokmachka. Near Stepnogorsk Russian forces have recaptured some ground north and east of Kamenskoe, and taken almost all of Plavni. Ukrainian forces have also attacked into Stepovoe, and captured the outskirts.

Russian forces penetrating the southern outskirts of Novodanilovka. We may soon see the area change hands on maps.

Rare footage of Russian Su-25s near the front line, in Zaporozhye, Orekhov area.

Russian artillery hits Novokaterinovka, Zaporozhye region.

Russia hits a Humvee, somewhere in Zaporozhye region.

A look at an M113 in Russian service. This vehicle we saw in a prior update, where some sources identified it as a Soviet artillery tractor, but it appears that was wrong and it is in fact an M113.

Dnepr front.

Russian drone strikes are now reaching the Kherson-Nikolaev road. Note the anti-drone tunnel.

Russian firefighter and his vehicle in Novaya Kahovka. Note the anti-drone netting and body armor. Ukraine has hit firefighters before. Given the location it's likely this is actually a Ukrainian firefighter, but continuing his work under Russian occupation.

Despite many strikes, the bridge to Korabel island in Kherson is still usable.

Black Sea/Crimea.

Russia hit and apparently sank or severely damaged a Ukrainian warship, the project 502 Simferopol'. Note it's not a very impressive warship, being a reconnaissance ship, based on a trawler. The strike is near Vilkovo, by the Romanian border.

More videos of Ukraine's drone strikes in Crimea, they hit two helos (Mi-8 and Mi-24) and a boat. The two helos correspond to burnt patches at the airfield seen after, which suggests both were either substantially damaged or destroyed.

Another video of Ukrainian strikes, most are at various stationary radar and satellite related facilities, one is attempting to hit an S-400 radar but the video cuts out before we can see it land, and the drone wobbles nearby suggesting it might have missed.

Ukraine has begun using Bayraktar TB-2s on the Tenderskaya peninsula, likely due to gaps in Russian air defenses after the masses of strikes against Russian GBAD in Crimea.

BDA from a recent Ukrainian strike shows a very large crater that totally missed the target near an FSB facility. Russian sources associate this with the new Flamingo cruise missile in Ukrainian service.

Several Ukrainian UAVs crashed into buildings in Rostov. No casualties are reported. Note these are two separate incidents.

BDA in Kuybyshev, Samar region, show that the oil refinery took relatively little damage despite the massive fire seen in footage. This suggests either successful firefighting efforts, or that large fires in oil refineries can be associated with relatively little damage.

Russian National Guard drone defense teams have shown up in Donetsk region, likely operating in the rear areas.

Another look at Russian National Guard air defense teams.

Interesting bits.

An interesting moment of a Ukrainian loitering munition striking a Russian truck with a trailer carrying a tank in Debal'tsevo, ~45 kms from the front lines.

Another Ukrainian MiG-29 is reportedly lost, circumstances are vague.

A look at Russia's Ulan buggy, a domestic alternative to the ubiquitous Desertcross. Its based off of the Lada Niva to the point where components are interchangeable, and apparently comes with plug ins specifically for onboard EW. The vehicle is being used on a test basis in Russia's 110th MRBde.

A Russian T-62MV with a small roof cage on a ramp for extended range of indirect fire.

Russian brigade North training in the LNR. I wonder if it's the old Storm bde that used to be staffed with prisoners on a regular basis.

A photo of Ukraine's new longer range Neptune missile. It's unclear if it uses the same TELs.

Some info on Ukraine's new 18th Army corps allegedly will consist of the 1st, 21st, and 47th Heavy Mech Bdes, 47th Arty, 66th and 156th Mech Bdes. Most of these units are in the Sumy region.

Ukraine's 425th Rgt reportedly received a batch of the new Abrams Ukraine got from Australia.

Ukraine's 59th Assault Bde now has Bradleys in some quantity.

Ex-Azeri MiG-29 in Ukrainian service. 3 of these were in Ukraine when the war broke out for maintenance. It's unclear if Azerbaijan gave permission for them to be used by Ukraine.

Ukrainian forces with a Swedish-supplied CB90 with a Hellfire missile.

With Russian strikes on Ukrainian training centers being normal, Ukraine has started to house students in underground facilities, hidden.

Another look at Ukraine's new Flamingo missile shows it has an AI-25 engine, suggesting Ukrainian involvement in the manufacturing.

Czech volunteers have apparently donated Ukraine their 3rd Blackhawk.

OT-90 APCs have shown up in Ukraine. This is a BMP-1/BVP-1 with a BTR/BRDM turret.

Polish sources claim 345 2S22s and 100+ towed Bogdana-B howitzers have been produced in Ukraine to date. The accuracy of this is of course unverified, but the numbers aren't impossible. They're produced in Kramatorsk, and the front line is steadily getting closer, but there's no reason to think the production can't be moved.

Ukraine recently passed a new law allowing 18-22 year old men to leave the country. This appears to have led to a rush to the borders.

Indirect confirmation continues to emerge that Russian-held areas of Donetsk region are suffering from water shortages. Here Russia is selling subsidized drinking water to residents and volunteer organizations are delivering water supplies. Donetsk has had issues with water supply since '14. The ultimate solution would be to re-open the canal from the Severskiy Donets river but this would require either Ukraine to agree to for Russia to capture Slavyansk. It's also likely the canal needs major repair work. Russia did build an additional canal to iirc the Don, but it doesn't cover the region's water needs.

Russian cleanup and reconstruction at the Donetsk airport continues.

Russia and Ukraine did another POW exchange 146 for 146 via the UAE.

some interesting footage of what it looks like after future Ukrainian soldiers have been mobilized but before they head off for training.
