I'm sorry I cannot provide any links, as I've heard this information from forums (albeit from posters with a history of being consistent and knowledgeable). If I'm wrong then pardon me - it just seemed to make sense, going on the basis of the SU-33's weight (especially with a full load of fuel and munitions), and the fact that it's taking off without a catapult to assist, so when I was told this I didn't really question it.
