spy torpedo? in North Korea

I found another picture of it, perhaps someone who can read Korean can read the sign.

Flickr Photo Download: United States Torpedo on Display at USS Pueblo

Is it a Mk 45? have any Mk45 torpedoes been modified to anything other than the mod 1 export wake tracing torpedoes?

after google mapping the image of the Pueblo you can discern the torpedo next to the ship. unless my math is wrong, and since the google resolution honestly is not that good, the size is at least 5.13Meters long, putting it just shy of the 5.76 of a Mk45 ASTOR torpedo, but my measurements and math could be off.

DRPK Torpedo on Display

I took one of the photos shown. I do not have any more close ups but I will take more later this year.

What I was told by the Koreans was that the torpedo was discovered in the territorial waters of the DPRK. This was an example of the Americans spying on Korea. They indicated it was a signal intelligence gathering device. I recall that Robert Ballard was involved in some missions against Soviet military cables in the Pacific and I am wondering if it was a part of this effort. Searching the KCNA press releases has so far not revealed any more information on this.

I would be curious if anyone knows what this captured torpedo really is.

Welcome to defencetalk Zaruka. When you get some more pics they will be very appreciated. I was wondering if you had any more photos from the DPRK of either captured weapon systems, or of DPRK weapon systems, border guards, etc.

Photos from there are scarce and it would be very interesting to see some.

Ray let me know when you are heading to the North, I am living in Hong Kong and China and would gladly join you, I do not think my Russian passport will be a hindrance and the comrades will let me come and visit their socialist paradise...

You are thinking of Ivy Bells here is a wiki link: Operation Ivy Bells - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

More photos of the "Spy Torpedo" in Pyongyang

I went back to Pyongyang and rephotographed the torpedo in question. The photographs are located in Flickr under user Zaruka. I am unable to post the link.

The forward section is interesting and I was hoping someone could give more information on this item.
Thanks

Completely off topic Ray. Thank you. I will certainly consider that. I have a few that are like that one from the DPRK.
