havnt read the NZF defence policy, but the newsroom article is vintage ron M- cites his Ukraine experience, warfare has changed, NZ generals are out of touch.

There is a more nuanced/detailed discussion of his thoughts on "DEI" and the Manawanui sinking than whats in his Trump/Hegseth style ad.

Its weird that he's fronting an NZF ad but at number 16 on their list probably wont make it to parliament. Suggests that defenec is not high on NZFs list of priorities.

Ron Mark is so low on the List that he would not make it into Parliament at all, his understanding of Naval warfare is blinded by his service on land and it shows, last but not least DEI did not sink Manawanui, a culture in Navy of taking shortcuts in the name of Operational tempo is what sunk her. The Clarke Government & Treasury influence was the start point of this whole debacle five different classes of ships with absolutely no commonality in any system on board lead to this failure. He's a nice man but Im affraid his time has come, the only part I do agree with him on is that all our surplus vehicles should have been donated to Ukraine.
