new JF-17 looks like F/A-18E/F+JSF .

Interesting leading edge extensions and possibly blended-technology variable inlets. Hmmm... What would be the point of the latter, it'd still be miles off stealthy. Hardly an awe inspiring development potential IMO.

Good news:BeiJing(CAC) is tasting NO.4 Jf-17 with "DSI(BUMP)" and a large size "HUD" and four "MDF" +new"IRST"system.

Nope! infact normal variable intakes are more expensive in terms of both maintennance and manufacturing costs.

I think this cant be a challenge to the Indain Su-30MKI because its avionics are far more superior then the thunder if there are other changes being made in the avionics and the engine and also if the hardpoints are increased then this can give a hard punch to the MKI's but its unusual to see the design change in the 4th prototype

The only new change I see is in the wings. They are kind of inspired by F-18 from the attachments to accomidate heaver weapons like leaser guided bombs & wings ends are more like F-16s than being delta like F-7s.

The bump near wind inlets is not new...they were to be on the 3rd prototype. This is 4th prototype design. This doesnt take JF-17 any where near to JSF.

It's actually a shock ramp. The benefit of which is that it "tunes" the efficiency of the aircrafts engines at specific speeds.

Shock ramps are cheaper and actually can be more efficient. There are a number of recent aircraft that have them rather than variable inlets.

Well, the new changes certainly look good, but it's still a 3rd gen (china standard) fighter.

Frankly speaking, these changes gona furthur delay Jf-17 project.

The recent Pak-isreal meetings can finalise the radar but i am not sure if its combat radius can be increased then this ac can go deep into the enemy lines but radar can give it an edge which it does not have with grifo-7

Is there any news on Forward Looking Infra-Red (FLIR) installation ?

If the initial batches are having Chinese radar with 100 km search range then they badly need FLIR (and probably, an extra storestation).

Whats this thing they have put on the top of the "tail". It certainly wasnt there before. I have seen this on Rafale's tail aswell.

And also ApsideA2A missile i have seen this name in the weapons which thunder will use i cant find any specs can some one give me information about this missile
